Positive Leadership

Teach, don’t criticise; inspire don’t hate.

Positive leadership; it’s hard, but as leaders we need to provide the example. The example to be better, the example of being positive, the example of leading courageously and enthusiastically at all costs.

Many, many years ago I attended a group of seminars on the power of the mind facilitated and developed by John Kehoe. A pioneer in not only positive thoughts, but positive actions as well. One of the most significant concepts that I’ve always remembered is that “thoughts and actions attract like thoughts and actions”. Don’t walk around under a dark cloud; walk in sunshine, what you do and feel will effect your reality.

Being a leader, an inspirational one, can bring people together and move mountains. Leadership takes strength, courage, a relentless approach, love of your people and an impersonal approach to problem solving. So, don’t share bad news with a box of tissues, share it with a smile! The problem is usually the problem, but the best part is, there’s always a solution.

Positivity doesn’t just change the contents of your mind…It widens the span of possibilities that you see. – Barbara Fredrickson, Author

The fine line; positivity can’t be faked; vulnerability and honesty must always be present. People are smart; they can usually pick up on BS… When inspiration is genuine, an open mind can find the right answers. Trust yourself, be real and the true creativity of something better will arise.

Positive leadership, being inspirational, it can burn your energy, give you energy, drive you nuts and make you feel awesome… But, for the well-being of all you work with and work for, it’s a must!
